Devon noticed Lt had come over, and relaxed just a little bit.
"He knows where the guy went, where he hopefully still is. He implied he was going to either kidnap him, or whack him. He put in an application last week, and I told him if he leads us to the guy, we'll get his application fast tracked, and arrange a reward."
As he said that, he wondered if he had overstepped his boundaries, telling the guy he'd get in, and get money.
Devon noticed his hand was resting on his gun, something he had been doing instinctively ever since he started carrying one. He tensed up once more, waiting for a signal, or an answer from Kondor.

If he had a fault, Alex loved to play the part of the wounded gentleman. It put off offenders, reassured supporters, and, in most cases, helped to diffuse delicate situations. Like this one. A suit with a fresh-as-mint badge in his pocket, and now his elltee. Muttering softly to himself, he flipped off the ignition and dulled his light, then leaned out the window on his elbows.
“Evenin’ lieutenant. As I was just telling the detective here, the little incident down below us interrupted my rubbernecking for this evening . . . and the punk that shot your other deputy was last seen entering Flannigan’s Pub over a few blocks . . . big neon hamburger, with a quarterback running through it? Can’t miss the damned place . . . it’s got plenty of open windows, and I saw him go through the door into the kitchens, but he never came out the back end. Now, seeing as how he walked into a pub that is funded by Prentiss, and nobody put another bullet in his shoulder, I assumed he knew the owners. Figured I’d camp out on a rooftop and disable one of his legs whenever he did leave, then haul his sorry ass in to LeBoyce for questioning.” Flashing a charming grin, he then included “Unless, or course, you gentlemen need him for another purpose. But after you’re done with him, I think LeBoyce would like a few words with him . . . he pays well, but only so long as I keep a spotless record.”
Absently, he flipped on the sound system, playing a soft orchestra melody, with just a tingling of bass underneath the winds and strings. If he had another fault, it was that life needed an undertone of music . . .
((EDIT: My bad Fairfax X-D Changed for accuracy)) ===

Phaedon didn't speak for a few moments.
He then asked as neutrally as he could.
"Can I see your CSA license ?"
The driver opened his glove compartment and gave him his license.
Phaedon examined it. Nothing was wrong. He assessed the situation. He didn't want to upset any of Derren's mascots.
'Wilson's idea ? How predictable. Shoot a club full of armed enforcers... Every nutjob with a license to kill will go out and start shooting whoever they find. Next day ? 'Terrorist Attack on Prentiss Tigers protected pub, more info on Channel 9' . For a former gangster, he isn't street-smart at all it seems'
The man didn't reply.
"If we are going to work together, we are doing this my way" Phaedon said.

“If we’re going to work together, we are doing this my way.”
Knowing full well that a shrug would come off as offensive, Alex nodded. “You’re deputy was shot, so that makes this your case, lieutenant. I’ll show you the pub, the interior, hell, I’ll even show you where the bartender keeps her surveillance equipment stashed, if you really wanna’ know,” with an exaggerated wink. Let’s see just how stern this elltee is . . . feels like he’d smack me on the head and leave me in the backseat if I sass around too much . . . but you never know, he might actually have a sense of humor. Along with the granite jaw . . . If he lived through this night, life could get to be very, very, interesting . . .

Kondor hardly managed to hide a smile.
It was the first time in his whole career that the bad cop approach worked.
"None of this will be necessary. All we need is to find his car, a CS Gas Grenade and a SWAT element. Jensen can stay as the CO of the scene if you are kind enough to drive both of us there"

Devon managed a weak laugh, then turned and pointed.
"Loo... the guy's truck is right here."
He wondered if that was just an honest mistake, or if Kondor was hiding something from his detectives.

"It wouldn't make sense though, for his vehicle to be his undercover vehicle... Since we have his name, we can easily track down his license plate. Can we go now ? We are wasting time here"
